Area housing boards

The area housing boards (AHB) aim to engage residents on the local housing and community issues that matter to them.

As well as involving residents on the provision of housing services, the boards also monitor the performance of the area housing teams, the area contractors and other parts of the housing service.

Each resident group in Brent has at least two nominated representatives on the AHB. There are 4 AHB's and they meet every quarter. Minutes from previous meetings are available to download online.

The role of the AHB is to:

  • Involve residents in the provision of housing services
  • monitor the performance of area housing teams, area contractors and other parts of the housing service
  • develop new ideas and methods for solving Brent Housing Partnerships' housing problems
  • influence practices and polices that determines the provision of housing services
  • consider wider community problems and find solutions to them
  • advise the area manager and area contractors for the provision of resources and housing services
  • advise the area housing managers and area contractors on the development of an area strategy.
