We deal with the management of council owned garages.
There are some council garages available for rent at competitive rates.
Garages are for personal private use only and not for commercial activities.
You will not be offered a garage if you have rent arrears.
Current costs are £4.41 per week for council tenants and £6.23 per week for private tenants and leaseholders.
There is a 50% concession for registered disabled people.
Please note that all council owned garages are to be used for the sole purpose of parking your vehicle and not to be used as a storage facility.
Garage arrears
We are firmly of the view that if tenants are in arrears with their rent they should not have the privilege of renting a garage. Where there are arrears with garage rent we will take the appropriate action to repossess the garage by serving a 'Notice to Quit' on the tenant. One week after the 'Notice to Quit', the locks will be changed and any goods stored or disposed of.
