Housing support

We provide vulnerable council tenants and leaseholders extra support or advice to enable them to live independently in their home. This is called housing support.

We work with the elderly, young people and care leavers, and those with mental issues and long term health problems.

Our Housing Support team can also provide community safety alarms to elderly residents who meet an eligibility criteria.

We can also link vulnerable residents to a wide range of supported services in the borough via a referral process to STARTPlus (this is a central processing point in Brent, responsible to linking users to providers who can meet their care, support and housing need).

The team also manages a "vulnerable list". This helps us to plan services and to arrange regular contacts.
