Local neighbourhood improvement compacts
All four area housing boards now have a local neighbourhood improvement compact based on residents' most important local area priorities.

Neighbourhood compacts are agreements between our residents, and officers from Brent Housing Partnership. It includes ways to improve local housing services and makes it easier for all our residents to have a say, and make a difference to where they live.A photo of a housing estate in Brent

Measuring progress

Each local neighbourhood improvement compact covers the period September 2007 to September 2008 and progress will be reviewed by residents every three months at the area housing board meetings.

Do the compacts make a difference?

The success of the compacts will be tested regularly. As well as three-monthly compact review meetings, we also plan to use:

  • Photographs - keeping a visual record of local changes, to make a
    'before and after' comparison
  • a diary - residents keeping a diary of their experiences living in the area and dealing with local housing staff
  • interviews - with residents either at their home, in the street or by telephone to find out their views.
