About BHP

Brent Housing Partnership (BHP) is the arms length management organisation (ALMO) company that looks after 13,000 council properties in the London Borough of Brent.

BHP is owned by Brent Council but is run as a separate organisation at 'arms length' from the council, and at the time of our most recent inspection in 2003 was given the highest possible three star rating by the Audit Commission. BHP was set up to improve the borough's council housing stock through the government's Decent Homes programme. Thousands of tenants have told us how happy they are with their new kitchens and bathrooms.

BHP offers support to residents so they can live in their home independently and encourages all our residents to get involved. We also keep communal areas clean, look after gardens, carry out repairs, service gas installations, collect rent and manage problems between neighbours.

BHP is managed by board members. The board consists of residents, councillors and independents. The board meets every two months and all meetings are open to the public.

BHP have produced a number of publications, many of which are available to download on our website.

BHP have also established a number of resident mystery shoppers as a further way of testing how well our organisation is performing.
