Estate parking

Royal assent was granted to the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 on 1st May 2012 which will prohibit wheel clamping, creating a new criminal offence to immobilise, move or prevent the movement of a vehicle without lawful authority.

This will make it unlawful to continue to wheel clamp vehicles on private land (which includes housing estates), therefore, clamping ceased on all Council estates managed by Brent Housing Partnership (BHP) on 31st May 2012.

As a result of this, Brent Housing Partnership has reviewed its current parking control schemes across all estates managed by Brent Housing Partnership.

We surveyed all residents on the following:

  • The introduction of a parking scheme that involves issuing a parking charge notice on the vehicle
  • introducing of a charge of £10, for resident and visitor parking permits.

Residents on the following estates have voted in agreement to introduce the new proposed parking scheme and the implementation of a charge for resident and visitor parking permits.

Permits will cost £10 and there will be a maximum of 2 residents' permits and one visitors permit per household. Permits will be free for Blue Badge holders.
