Residents joined staff and Board Members in enjoying a beautiful sunny day, sharing food and drink as well as taking part in a raffle. A delighted couple from Slade Court, Mr and Mrs Toumert and their baby won first prize in the raffle which was a Digital LCD TV. Mr Toumert said: "We are very pleased with the refurbishments; they have really transformed our homes".
Mrs Vaghela, a BHP resident who attended the event commented: "The works have improved the block and made it cleaner and more presentable". Mrs Jean Francis, another BHP resident, said: "The refurbishments have made a huge difference, I am proud to tell people where I live".
Helen Evans, Managing Director of BHP, said: "I am happy that this project has been so successful. It has been transformed into an attractive, beautifully repaired place to live that our residents can be proud to call home".
The Mayor said: "I am familiar with Slade Court from 20 years ago, and can say that it is definitely not the same place it used to be. I am pleased to see these major improvements and would like to give credit to all those involved".
