22/10/07 : BHP sees big fall in anti-social behaviour
BHP's warden patrols resulted in a 30% (minimum) drop in reports of anti-social behaviour on St Raphaels, Mitchell Brook and Brentfield estates.
On St Raphaels estate alone, reports of anti-social behaviour have reduced by 47% with a 52% reduction in calls resulting in call outs. On top of that, reports of environmental crimes dropped by 52%.
The call statistics for Mitchell Brook and Brentfield estate have also seen a change for the better with a 30% fall in the number of reports of anti social behaviour and a 30% reduction in call outs. Reports of environmental crimes also decreased by 19%.
Director of housing management, Sandra Royer said: "These figures highlight the key role the warden service plays in reducing anti-social behaviour and creating a safer community for our residents.
"Our wardens carry out daily patrols and operate a hotline for tenants should they have any problems on their estates. The wardens also get involved with the youngsters by organising activities such as summer football tournaments on our estates. All of this contributes to minimising anti-social behaviour and environmental crimes."
