Music, laughter and the smell of good food were in the air on Saturday thanks to Brent Housing Partnerships (BHP) annual Open Day which saw residents from all across the Borough make their way to Gibbons recreation ground to enjoy a fun filled afternoon (September 1st).
Residents were spoilt for choice with activities from mini Olympics, five aside football and balloon races to magic shows and pampering by professional beauty therapists.
There was also a free afternoon tea of home made apple pie and scones filled with lashings of jam and cream.
And if you still fancied more, a short stroll over to the fruit stall was all it took; there you could feast on fresh fruit kebabs and your choice of fruit smoothies.
A live musician was also on site to perform some great golden oldies and for those who preferred something a little more upbeat, DJ's from local radio station 103.6 Life FM played some great tunes.
Local BHP resident Christina Fadian from St Rapheals Estate brought her one year old daughter to the event, she said: "Its was a really good day and there was lots for the kids to do, my daughter was entertained by Zakko the clown and I got treated to a pedicure."
Towards the end of the day a raffle was held, residents bagged themselves top gifts such as Brent cross shopping vouchers, mini Ipod shuffles and a flat screen TV.
Finally the winners of the mini Olympics and five aside football tournaments proudly stood up and received their certificates.
Sandra Royer BHP's Director of Housing Management said: "We had smashing weather this weekend and it was wonderful to see so many of our young residents enjoying the table football, balloon races and raffles. The refreshment tent also made a relaxing hub for some of our older tenants.
"We all enjoyed meeting the residents and hope they are more aware of the range of services we provide now and as well as having a lovely day."
