It's twenty five years since the Marley Walk estate in North Kilburn was built, and to celebrate tenants organised an afternoon of music, face painting and good food, under the rays of the hot summer sun on Saturday (14 July).
The celebrations kicked off when ninety two year old resident Mr Bill Badger, one of the original tenants, cut the 25th anniversary ribbon.
The event was organised by members of the Marley Walk Residents Association which is supported by Brent Housing Partnership who manage and maintain the estate.
"It was wonderful" said resident and secretary for the association Molly Ormonde.
"I loved organising this event and getting all the neighbours together.
"I invited all the residents new and old. One lady only moved in four months ago and it turned out she was an artist so she got involved by doing face painting for the kids. It's a really good way for new residents to get to know their neighbours."
