05/07/07 : All aboard the BHP repairs bus

Brent Housing Partnerships (BHP) mobile repairs bus made its first outing this week (3 - 5 July) to visit BHP estates across the borough.

BHP staff welcomed residents aboard, offered them a comfy seat, a cup of tea and listening ear for those tenants who wanted to discuss their repairs.

Mr Yousaf, of Amundsen House Stonebridge was just one of the residents who got on board.

"The repairs bus is an excellent service I'm so glad it's available" he commented.

"The best thing about it is its right on my doorstep. I can speak to a member of staff in person and because it's face to face I can be sure they understand my problem.

"I'm so happy they've brought this service out - there's no queuing and no waiting. It's fantastic."

The mobile repairs bus stops off at 14 different BHP estates and three local supermarkets for residents to discuss their repairs with BHP staff face to face.

Technical Director, Gerry Doherty said: "Our hope is that residents make full use of the repairs bus and find it an easy or more convenient way to chat about repairs with staff."
