What we do
The role of the focus group is to consider, debate and examine services for residents, particularly ethnic minorities, to ensure services are provided to residents in line with BHP's equal opportunities procedures.
We test these policies and procedures and advise Brent Housing Partnership on tenant initiatives and ways to improve services.
What we have achieved so far
- we advise on customer care by providing feedback on telephone answering, complaints and correspondence; helping Brent Housing Partnership set new standards
- we participate in mystery shopping - checking on estate cleaning services, major works and contractors
- we take part in customer care training programmes with BHP staff - highlighting to them the importance of providing a real customer focused service.
Why it is important for you to participate
- you have ideas we can get across
- we collectively have ideas to get across
- we provide support for each other
- we collectively resolve issues
- we are listened to.
Our meetings are informally structured to enable you to present your views and suggestions without the strict formalities of residents' associations.
In addition we will pay any out of pocket expenses.
