Community fund
Brent Housing Partnership has allocated an annual sum of £30,000 Community Fund for community projects providing facilities or activities which promote good community relations.
Sponsoring projects also gives BHP a point of contact with residents who may not be interested in conventional participation activity and this will allow a better understanding of how local issues and problems can be tackled.
If you are interested in applying for this grant please read the criteria and complete an application form.
We will contact you as soon as your application has been discussed.
Application criteria:
- The applicant must be based in Brent and demonstrate that the majority of beneficiaries of the grant are tenants and leaseholders living in council housing in Brent.
- The Grant will be awarded for a one year period only and does not imply any year on year financial commitment from BHP.
- Projects must be financially viable, have a clear management structure and the ability to deliver quality services to the diverse communities in Brent.
- Projects must be community based activities which represent either:
- a genuine development of an organisation's on going activities, intended and capable of being sustained over a period of at least 12 months or
- new on-going activities by new community based organisations or
- a significant event or one-off project which will benefit a specific group or area and hold the prospect for longer term and sustainable community
- Projects must be ongoing (rather than a one off event) and must provide sustainable community activity that can be demonstrated year after year.
- Applicants must submit full details of their proposed project in their application.
- Payment of the grant will normally be quarterly in arrears and based on receipt of relevant receipts for expenditure, but in some circumstances this will be negotiable. The Managing Director is authorised to agree any departure from the requirement for payment in arrears.
- The maximum grant payable is £5,000 for each project, subject to the resources held in the Fund
- All applicants must comply with the London Borough of Brent's Standard Conditions of Grant Aid.
- If funding is approved, organisations will be expected to submit a short evaluation report of the project to BHP by the end of the financial year. The report should detail how the grant was used, showing outcomes and achievements.
- If funding is approved, organisations must hold a register showing names and addresses of residents benefiting the scheme which may be inspected by BHP.
All grant applications will be considered by a panel of board members.
