Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (ASBO's)

Brent Council and Brent Housing Partnership does not tolerate residents harassing, alarming or causing distress to their neighbours.

If you harass, alarm or cause distress to others you can be bound by law to an Anti Social Behaviour Order (ASBO).

These are legal orders which can be specifically used against people aged 10 or over.

To obtain an order we have to work very closely with the police and the council.

Incidents where these orders may be used include against groups of people who loiter in communal areas and who intimidate residents with their behaviour.

An order could take the form of banning these people from a particular area or part of the borough.

Breaking the conditions of an ASBO means you may be imprisoned or fined.

Working in partnership with Brent Police, the council has adopted ASBO's which carry up to five years in jail and a massive fine for offenders.
