06/08/2010 : Jacqueline wins National TPAS Award

Jacqueline Mason, Tenancy Manager for Brent Housing Partnership (BHP), has won another major national housing award recognising her resident involvement work.

Jacqueline Mason with National TPAS award

Jacqueline won the prestigious Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) National Awards held in Birmingham on 24 July 2010 for the category of Tenant/Resident Involvement Officer of the Year. Her entry into the national awards arose after previously winning the southern regional finals in April.

Jacqueline regularly goes out of her way to assist tenants. She has often diffused complaints by establishing good relationships with tenants and communicating well with them. Her customer care skills and experience in housing is a real asset to BHP, and as a manager she is able to train housing officers to an extremely high standard.

The work that Jacqueline does has often impacted on the lives of residents to a degree that if it was not for her, their lives would be completely different. For instance Jacqueline worked very closely with a young resident who having lost his parents, was unable to keep up with his rent and was in danger of losing his property and being prevented from continuing his education. She worked tirelessly to ensure that this did not happen.

As well as her day to day duties, Jacqueline is also a member of a number of joint working groups that offer support services to tenants. Her contributions to these groups are very much valued by colleagues.

Jacqueline said: "I am overjoyed and proud to win this award on behalf of BHP and Brent Council. My priority has always been the interest of residents and giving them a positive experience with our service and supporting agencies. I hope this will be the first of many awards for the company."

Jacqueline's win has brought admiration from her colleagues and those within the housing sector.
