26/04/2010 : Residents commend BHP's response to ASB

Brent Housing Partnership (BHP) conducted an independent residents' survey in January 2010 with users of both BHP's Resident and Community Support Team and the Neighbourhood Warden Service.

The survey is carried out quarterly and is part of the measures in place to monitor systems for tackling anti-social behaviour. The results from January showed that residents were pleased with the service they were receiving and good satisfaction rates.

  • 86% thought it was easy to report their problem
  • 80% were contacted within a week
  • 84% found the officer dealing with their case very helpful
  • 86% were kept informed regularly
  • 84% were satisfied with the support they received
  • 86% were happy with the service overall
  • 84% were happy with the outcome of the case
  • 94% will be happy to report a case to BHP in the future

The Resident and Community Support Team aims to resolve complex, serious or persistent ASB, nuisance and harassment cases taking all reasonable and necessary steps to eliminate acts of nuisance and anti-social behaviour that can have an impact on the quality of residents' day to day lives.

The Neighbourhood Warden Service is dedicated to ensuring residents of Brent enjoy a safe and peaceful environment. The wardens act as a deterrent to crime and give residents confidence that BHP will tackle both the incidences and fear of crime and disorder within the borough and improve relations within the community.

Christian Longdon, Head of BHP's Special Needs Team said:
"We are very pleased with the outcome of the survey. It demonstrates our commitment to dealing with incidences of anti-social behaviour. We want to provide a robust service for our residents and make sure we are looking after their needs and concerns. We will continue to monitor our services and will act on any feedback that has been given both positive and negative."
