We welcomed tenants to Granville New Homes as they began moving into their properties this week. This comes after the newly built flagship development was sold to us on 10th August. The excitement and joy was evident in the residents' faces as they entered their new homes and began unpacking their belongings. They seemed to have been given a new lease of life..jpg)
Asha Shirwa, mother of four young children, was previously living on the fourth floor of a building with no lift. She was finding this increasingly difficult with the children and carrying heavy bags of shopping up four flights. When Ms Shirwa was offered a four bedroom property in the Granville New Homes development she was over the moon.
Ms Shirwa said: "I am very happy to be moving in to Granville New Homes. It is a nice modern building and the house we have been allocated is beautiful. I am so excited now to have more space, more facilities and a beautiful garden. I am really looking forward for my kids to have somewhere to play."
As she loves cooking and entertaining, Ms Shirwa will also be looking forward to having the space to invite her family and friends over for dinner, having a settled base and better quality of life.
Maria Coutinho has also recently moved in to Granville New Homes just down the road from Ms Shirwa. She is a mother of one, and works part-time as a translator. She said: "I am ecstatic, my new home is so much bigger. The communal area is very nice, and is a lovely place to sit and relax. I have a young daughter and think the extra space and outside features will be good for her."
Andrew Marnell works as a nurse in a care home and has moved into a one bedroom property. He said: "It's refreshing to be able to move into this new building with the extra facilities. Where I was living before was run down and I am looking forward to a new start. There is more space for me which is brilliant, as well as nice gardens and views. I'm looking forward to all the new developments that will be happening in this area, it's all very exciting."
Marta Fenote-Hiwot, has a five year old son. They were previously living in a one bedroom property, but now have two bedrooms and more space. Ms Fenote-Hiwot said: "We are very happy in our new home. There is more space and we have a wonderful communal garden for my son to play in. He has been running around and making good use of it."
