A year's worth of training is on offer from Brent Housing Partnership (BHP), including a course which can lead to a recognised qualification!

The training programme features courses chosen by BHP residents. It includes: a newsletter production course for budding journalists, I.T courses for an easy introduction to using computers, a negotiation skills and assertiveness course and much, much more.

And for those who really want to broaden their knowledge and skills there is a 36 week course at Lewisham College in Housing, Tenant Participation and Neighbourhood Renewal.

Neighbourhood services manager Christina Byrne said: "We believe in investing in our residents and equipping them with training and skills which they can use to benefit both themselves and their fellow residents - whether that's at work or as a member of a focus group, residents association or BHP panel.

"All courses are free. The only thing they cost is time, and we believe the courses available are time well spent."
