31/07/2008 : Littlehampton: BHP's second summer outing

Littlehampton was the next stop for Brent Housing Partnership (BHP) residents who took up BHP's offer of a day by the sea (12 July 08).

More than 200 residents of all ages climbed on board coaches leaving from Brent, bucket and spades in hand, all set for a day of sea, sand and dancing at Littlehampton's annual carnival.

Although the weather was a little overcast, everyone made the most of the day with kids whipping off their jackets, kicking off their shoes and jumping straight onto the beach to build sandcastles, whilst the adults relaxed and set up picnics.

BHP resident Joan Daley said the day out was: "Brilliant".

But trips like these also benefit BHP. Having a large group of residents in one place is a great opportunity to get feedback on the services we provide.

"We use these events to consult residents and find out how they feel we can improve", said Helen Evans BHP's Managing Director.

"Our Neighbourhood Services team will be using the feedback they received from residents when they work on the local Resident Compacts later this year. The compact sets out priorities for improvement works across the four Area Housing Boards.

"BHP officers were also on hand if residents wanted to know more about what we do or to answer general questions.

The trips are also a great way to meet neighbours and find out more about the resident involvement activities BHP organises."
