20/02/2008 : A double date for residents

A double date was marked in the diaries of tenants from six residents associations across the borough that teamed up at Kingsbury football club to attend a late, but merry annual Christmas lunch held - on Valentines Day.

And although the atmosphere was definitely merry the club was decoratively filled with all things romantic, which made the day extra special for everyone attending the party.

There was also a raffle where guests could bag themselves a handmade patchwork quilt made by the residents of the Groves association. The making of the quilt was just one of the activities funded by BHP's community fund scheme which raised £121. The money will now go back into funding more activities for the residents.

A delighted Molly Mullin of Pitt House had the winning ticket and was over the moon to hear she'd won. Molly said: "It's such a gorgeous prize."

The afternoons catering and live entertainment was laid on thanks to the generous donations made by customers of McDonough's pub in Kingsbury who had contributed throughout the year to fund the celebrations.
